MMO-Champion posted yesterday a preview of the new battleground coming with Cataclysm, The Battle for Gilneas. This is a battleground that is very similar to the current Arathi Basin battleground where you capture, hold and defend points of interest to gather points over time until one of the teams get 2000 points and wins.
I am happy that they chose to make a “copy” of Arathi Basin compared to the other current alternatives especially with the rated battlegrounds coming as well in Cataclysm. Will be nice with the new landscape and hopefully it will invite for some strategy.
MMO-Champion posted news today about the reputation rewards you will be able to obtain in Cataclysm as well as pictures of the mounts that is among the rewards. I have to say that the camel’s looks like some old and hairy inbred failure of a species. At least the saddle looks comfortable. The drakes on the other hand look kind of nice and one of them is a reputation reward. About the items I cannot really say much since I have not seen that many of the other items that you can obtain in Cataclysm but some of these reputation reward items looks really good.
In the blue post section we are reminded that they have removed the guild “contributor” concept which I kind of liked. I guess we will see the larger guilds gain their guild levels a lot faster than a guild of the old cap of 20 contributors.
Remember to take a look at the fan art that was posted as well. The theme here seems to be Kawaii (Cute) made by a talented Chinese artist. She has made several fan art contributions before as well. You can look at more of her work at her blog (translated to English for your comfort). Kind of reminded me of Junko Mizuno’s work, just less grotesque.
Nethaera wrote a little post on the wow forums today about the new patch (4.0.1) where he talked about its size and the amount of content that comes with it. You can read it here. You can also read my thoughts about the post and my reaction due to the lack of whiners and trolls in the post.
For you who read WoWInsider posts you should note that they do not use www.wow.com anymore. They are now using wow.joystiq.com / www.wowinsider.com.
Here is the daily blues from WoWInsider.
A few days back WoWInsider wrote an article about fishing and cooking dailies at level 10. This is something I really missed and it seems like Blizzard has done a good job in implementing this. You gain skill for doing the quests in addition to other rewards like you got in the previous fishing quests. As for the cooking quest you gain a token like in Dalaran and a skillpoint. This is still in beta and it may be changed of course but at the moment it looks like a great addition.
Also, to prepare you for the Brewfest that starts next week here you have WoWInsider’s Guide to the Brewfest.
